The American Fisheries Society and The Wildlife Society will come together for the first-ever joint national conference of these two organizations. The event will likely be the largest gathering of fish and wildlife professionals ever, and will provide unprecedented opportunities for science-sharing and collaboration.
California Sea Grant will be well represented with talks from many members of our extension team.
On Monday, September 30 from from 8-5:20pm, Carolynn Culver is organizing the Extension Education and Cooperative Research to Address the Needs of Fishing Industry Stakeholders session at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center which includes talks from Theresa Talley and Nina Venuti, Carrie Pomeroy, Carolynn Culver, Joe Tyburczy and key partners.
The Russian River Salmon and Steelhead Monitoring team will also be giving talks throughout the week:
- Monday, September 30 at 2:30pm in the Atlantis Grand Ballroom 7 - Andrew McClary will be giving his talk titled: Utilization of Web Applications in a Salmon and Steelhead Monitoring and Recovery Program
- Tuesday, October 1 at 3:40pm in the Reno-Sparks Conference Center C3 - Mariska Obedzinski will speak about: Low Summer Streamflow Limits Endangered Coho Salmon Recovery in Coastal California Streams
- Wednesday, October 2 at 9:00am in the Reno-Sparks Conference Center A5 - Will Boucher will talk about: Effects of Flow Augmentation on Coho Salmon Smolt Passage and Juvenile Rearing Conditions in Porter Creek, a Tributary to the Russian River, California
