Laura Slater

Laura Slater joined the California Sea Grant Russian River Salmon and Steelhead Monitoring Program as the Monitoring Program Manager in 2021. She oversees and coordinates fish monitoring and research projects and assists the Monitoring Program Director with program planning and contract management. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), worked as a research program coordinator for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, and is completing her PhD in fisheries through UAF. She has a diverse background in marine and aquatic research and enjoys working with coho salmon and steelhead in the Russian River watershed.
