Alison Rowe
Alison Rowe earned a master’s degree in marine biodiversity and conservation from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 2020. Her graduate capstone project communicated the ocean-to-table story of six sustainable seafood products through the lens of San Diego’s seafood community. Before Scripps, she taught high school science and math, counseled college students, led environmental education, rehabbed marine animals, trained sea lions, and managed her family’s pizzeria.
Rowe will support research, policy development, and outreach to advance fisheries and aquaculture regulations, plastic pollution source reduction, and the climate-ocean nexus, as well as explore opportunities to further diversity, equity, and inclusion in ocean conservation.
