Offshore: Communications on a Crowded Sea

When commercial fishing activities and offshore oil exploration and development coincide, conflicts may result. This 30-minute video describes the state of these industries off the coast of California in the late 1980s. The different philosophies of the two industries and the ways that these difficult conflicts have been eased through communications, education, mediation and research are described. Developed for planners and decision makers in both government and industry, the video is also suitable for both youth and adult audiences interested in our marine resources and offshore industries.

Please note: This video was released in 1990, and provides an insightful look into the state of industry negotiations at that time. Some information may be outdated. Additionally, this video is housed by Paradigm Pictures but was not made by Paradigm Pictures.
