Sky Smith graduated with a master's degree in earth sciences from University of California Santa Cruz in 2019. While there, Smith studied the impacts of the 2015/2016 El Niño on California's sandy beaches. She also conducted graduate research at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center.
During her fellowship, Smith will be developing the Center for Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation’s communication strategy across various digital media platforms.
