Jaime will receive a master’s degree in biological sciences from California State University, Chico in 2022. His graduate research focused on using molecular and biochemical assays to explore nitrogen fixation in the sea anemone Aiptasia (Exaiptasia pallida), a model system for understanding coral symbiosis and bleaching.

Jaime has accepted a fellowship with the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission in San Francisco, California. As a fellow, he will be a part of the Sediment Management team assisting in a variety of scientific outreach projects focusing on the Bay’s sediment dynamics to the impacts human activities have on the sediment system.
