Cheryl Patel

Cheryl Patel will be graduating with a master's degree in interdisciplinary marine and estuarine science from San Francisco State University's Estuary and Ocean Science Center in 2020. Her thesis explores the lower food web in the Sacramento River as it pertains to food availability for pelagic fish species. She is investigating the diet of zooplankton, an important food source for fish, to elucidate a clearer connection between phytoplankton and zooplankton interactions in the northern San Francisco Estuary.

Patel will help put on the Delta Science Program's Science Needs Assessment Workshop and work on producing resources resulting from the workshop, and will support the Delta Independent Science Board.
