Carmen Zamora earned her master’s degree in Marine Conservation and Biodiversity from Scripps Institute of Oceanography in 2021. Her research looked at adaptation strategies used to combat sea-level rise in Southern California, she specifically analyzed two large coastal wetland areas, Ormond Beach and the Tijuana River Estuary. She also worked closely with The Nature Conservancy to communicate the beauty and resiliency of coastal wetlands by developing a virtual tour of Ormond Beach, CA in hopes to include more diversity in coastal management processes.

Zamora is excited to assist the San Francisco Estuary Partnership, with the development of the Bay Area Wetlands Regional Monitoring Program, updating the State of the Estuary Report, and collaborating with regional partners to advance climate adaptation planning and funding.
