Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (COASST)

After completing a training program, participants pledge to conduct monthly surveys on a beach that has special meaning to them. At present, three basic types of data are collected: beachcast birds, marine debris and evidence of human use of the beach environment. There are participating COASST programs throughout the northwest Pacific from Alaska to California.
