California Sea Grant scientist Monique Myers will join fellow University of California, Santa Barbara researchers in a faculty panel discussion examining the pressing topics of climate change and rising sea levels.

Myers is a California Sea Grant Extension Specialist whose research focuses on climate change impacts and adaptations, citizen science, and healthy coastal ecosystems. Being in close contact with the Santa Barbara community, Myers often leads citizen science and education programs, topical workshops, and public information campaigns as part of her outreach efforts.

In collaboration with UCSB Reads, Myers will join fellow UCSB researchers in a faculty discussion panel focused on themes found in the 2020 selection "Rising: Dispatches from the New American Shore" by Elizabeth Rush, a book focused on the topic of climate change and rising sea levels.

The discussion is open to all, and will be followed by a Q&A session.
