The Society for Applied Anthropology Annual Meeting brings together participants from diverse backgrounds to connect and trade ideas, methods, and practical solutions. The theme of the 2020 meeting is “Cultural Citizenship and Diversity in Complex Societies.”
California Sea Grant Extension Specialists Carrie Pomeroy and Carolynn Culver will be speaking at the conference. In addition to California Sea Grant, speakers from other Sea Grant programs around the nation will be speaking at the meeting.

Places and Policies: Who Is Impacted and Why?
California Sea Grant Extension Specialist Carrie Pomeroy will chair the session, which will include researchers and state and federal fisheries managers. Pomeroy, along with Carolynn Culver and Nadine Heck, will give a presentation entitled "Policy and practice in marine space use governance: On common ground or at cross purposes?" which will focus on comparing and contrasting agencies' roles, policies, and practices regarding aquaculture and fisheries in California.
