Ocean Visions Coastal Solutions Workshop: Coastal Flood Modeling, Prediction and Observations for the U.S. West Coast

March 31, 10:30 a.m.—2:30 p.m. PT & April 1, 9:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. PT

Please join us for a virtual workshop that is part of the Ocean Visions Coastal Solutions Series.

In recent years, U.S. West Coast coastal flood observations, modeling, and forecasting products have significantly improved.  Many of these products and observations are now designed in collaboration with local and state partners, and are intended to help community stakeholders address today’s coastal flood hazards and future flooding, inundation, and sea-level rise.

This workshop will serve as a forum for the research community working on these various West Coast efforts with the aim of improving integration and collaboration among these entities so they can better serve coastal communities.  It will also showcase case studies on how these products are evolving to meet a range of stakeholders’ needs for addressing contemporary and future coastal flood hazards.

We hope you will consider joining us for this important discussion.

  • March 31, 10:30 a.m.—2:30 p.m. PT: Session will include panels and discussions on West Coast advancements and remaining challenges in providing coastal flood solutions to community stakeholders.
  • April 1, 9:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. PT: Session will include focus group discussions of opportunities to improve co-developed coastal flood solutions with state, federal, and local stakeholders.
