The annual Citizen Science Conference (CitSci19) aims to weave together and address issues related to three main focal topics: problem-driven citizen science, environmental justice and education for its gathering in 2019. This symposium offers a range of sessions from the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, educators, opportunities for networking, and more.
California Sea Grant extension specialist Monique Myers, located out of Santa Barbara, will be presenting information regarding the importance of citizen-based science initiatives and bring awareness to issues that may arise to sustain these practices over extended time periods. She will be involved in a session with Sea Grant Extension specialists from across the US including Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and possibly Hawaii.
