Thank you to the generous sponsors of the 2021 Humboldt Bay Symposium!
Symposium Overview
The 2021 Humboldt Bay Symposium will be webcast via Zoom on September 28-30. A long-standing local tradition, the Symposium is a community-oriented conference and provides a unique opportunity for the general public to engage directly with scientists, managers, and local experts. It is a forum for learning about the latest developments on a variety of current issues related to the Humboldt Bay region including research and restoration of coastal ecosystems, economic development, and sustainable use and recreation.
The theme for the 2021 Symposium, “Sustainable Blue Economy,” highlights the importance of coastal and ocean resources in our region as well as the potential for synergy among existing and proposed future activities. This encompasses fishing, aquaculture, offshore energy, shipping, recreation, tourism, and ecological restoration. The conference will run from 10:00am to 2:30pm each day (with a lunch break from 12:00 to 12:30).
Registration
Registration for the Symposium is required, but FREE. Follow this registration link to register for any or all days of the Symposium.
Though the Symposium is free, we request that non-student attendees consider a donation of $10 (or more) to our fiscal sponsor, the Coastal Ecosystems Institute of Northern California (CEINC), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing and disseminating coastal ecosystem science along California’s north coast. CEINC facilitates research and collaboration to inform management and promote policy based on the best available science to ensure the continued resilience and vibrancy of our coastal ecosystems.
